There are quite a few ways a hacker
guesses passwords. Quite
amazingly, if the password is not
randomly generated, all they need
are a few clues about the owner of
the account and viola, they are in!
Some may use some related
keywords generator while others do
it manually. Either way, the basics
are the same. The method is not
top secret. In fact, it is a general
knowledge. All you need is some
common sense, a little bit of love for
puzzles, and time.
First, know some pertinent
information such as the name of the
person, the partner, children and
pet's name. The name of the home
city, favorite football or basketball
team, and the college can also
appear in passwords. Know the
birthdays of these persons and the
last four digits of the social security
number.
For example, if you are hacking the
account of Christian S. Wright,
common passwords may include:
wrightcs, chis1234, naitsirhc or
chrissw. A birthday for example,
11/21/79, used as password is
112179. You get the idea. The
combinations only revolve on the
names and the numbers related to
him.
If that doesn't work, try popular
passwords such as 123456789,
123456, 1234, asdf, password,
iloveyou, qwerty, abc123,
aabbccddee, and the first name.
If all don't work, the hacker will be
lead to answer a security question.
Here, it is already possible that the
answer to the question can be easily
guessed provided that the hacker
knows who you are.
There are also sophisticated ways to
guess a facebook password such as
phishing, social engineering, and
keylogging.
